Title

Critical Phenomena in Spin Systems I. Crossover Scaling Functions for Exchange Anisotropy: n=2 and n=3 models II. Studies on the Spherical Model

Subject

Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics

Advisor

Professor David Jasnow

Summary

After many false starts, crossover scaling in critical phenomena was just being understood in 1971. My thesis was an important link in solidifying the support for the ideas of Jasnow and Fisher in these matters. In fact, I have a postcard from Jasnow in which he states that Fisher told him that it was a "commendable" thesis. I am David Jasnow's first student.
